List Of 16 New Sub Counties and Divisions Gazetted By Government

On February 14th, Ministry of Interior published a gazette announcing a the creation of New Sub Counties and Divisions.

Following the authority granted by the National Government Coordination Act of 2013, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki established 16 new sub-counties across the nation.

Additionally, 31 existing counties received new divisions, locations, and sub-locations.

Newly Established Sub-Counties:

  • Tarasaa
  • Tiriki East (headquarters: Shaviringa)
  • Narok Amalo (headquarters: Sogoo town)
  • Narok West (headquarters: Ng’osuani)
  • Kambu (headquarters: Kambu)
  • Murera (headquarters: Toll Town)
  • Kerio Valley (headquarters: Chesongoch)
  • Kabras East (headquarters: Malava Town)
  • Kabras West
  • Usigu
  • Suba Central (headquarters: Sindo)
  • Suba West (headquarters: Sena)
  • Suba South (renamed, previously existed)
  • Rachuonyo West
  • Dagoretti North
  • Dagoretti South (renamed, previously existed)

New Divisions:

  • Gede
  • Chakama
  • Chara
  • Garsen Central
  • Fafi
  • Mugwe
  • Kathangachini
  • Uragate
  • Thagicu North
  • Kithungo

This move by the Ministry of Interior aims to decentralize administration and bring government services closer to citizens.
