26,989 KCSE candidate to sit for their exams in Migori
A total of 26,989 candidates in Migori County this morning commenced their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
The county, has 12 sub-counties and has set up 312 examination centres, with 14 secure examination containers strategically located to facilitate the process.
Migori County Commissioner Kisilu Mutua, who supervised the opening of the Suna East Sub County examination container, assured that stringent security measures are in place to ensure the smooth running of the exams.
Among the candidates, 67 private students will be sitting for their exams. According to Kisilu, this will also include five candidates who will take their tests from various hospitals within the county.
The candidates are scheduled to tackle the English functional skills paper in the morning session, followed by chemistry paper one in the afternoon.
Nationally, the KCSE exams will involve 965,501 students and will conclude on November 22.
According to KNEC, this year’s exams include an innovative feature of personalized question papers for each candidate.
This is aimed at enhancing the integrity and security of the examination process.
